Dumkele Idehen began his athletic journey in Indian Land, SC. He is primarily a football player and participated in outdoor track and field as well. He was a short-distance sprinter in the 100, 200, and 4×1 meter relays. Idehen was awarded multiple football accoladed with many athletic awards such as All-Conference Linebacker, All-State Linebacker, 2x Tri-County Defensive player of the Year, Big 22 Player of the Year Nominee, and most honorable, North-South All-Star. Dumkele received multiple Division I Football offers to play college football and eventually chose to continue his journey at Towson University in Towson, MD.
